Me & Carter ready to ride!
The kids are home from school this week for spring break, so we took them on a trail ride today. Carter didn't want to ride the pony because "he's too slow," so Rhio was gracious enough to carry us double. I used the bareback pad and we felt nice & secure. I think Rhio's withers were a bit high for Carter's comfort, but he didn't want to sit behind me because then he couldn't see as well. We chatted mostly about sharks & the Titanic, two of Carter's abiding passions.

Carter learned to lean back a little for going down hills, and lean forward a little for going up hills. Abigail learned to ask her horse to back up, and we practiced backing up with the horses in sync. I think she'd love to be a drill team rider!
It wasn't much of a physical challenge today, but I was extremely proud of Rhio's poise carrying the two of us - something we've never done before
